| Founded in 1982, it is the mission of LifeTies, Inc. to provide quality care and services to youth in crisis due to sexual orientation, gender, abuse, neglect, homelessness, and various health issues including HIV/AIDS, Lupus, and Diabetes.
LifeTies has multiple programs:
- Triad House, a program of LifeTies, is a 24-hour residential group home for youth ages 14-18 with emotional, medical and behavioral challenges.
- In 1990, LifeTies opened Rainbow House, the first group home in the nation for adolescents with HIV/AIDS and their children. At that time, young women and their children were in great need of housing and care due to an unprecedented increase of pregnant young girls infected with HIV/AIDS as a result of unprotected sex. Today all HIV/AIDS impacted residents at Rainbow House acquired the disease at birth. In 2009, Rainbow House expanded its services to include medically fragile young women with Lupus, diabetes and severe asthma. Now in 2013 in effort to service an even greater population of youth in New Jersey, Rainbow House expanded its services to also include: pregnant/parenting youth, and youth with emotional/behavioral challenges.
- T.I.L.T. (Teenage Independent Living Training) is a program that serves male and female adolescents, ages 15-22, which focuses on independent living skills for those without family support.
- Mary's Place is a Supportive Housing program for youth between the ages of 18-21. We offer scattered site housing in Mercer County. We also provide a myriad of support services aimed at empowering our residents and providing a safe and secure environment to grow into self-sufficient adults.
